Jody has scheduled the first 2 major road projects that will affect traffic on the Ranch. Expect detours and/or delays for these. Please plan ahead and drive safely around the crews.
- Crack sealing in Tollgate Canyon- June 25th. Expect some short delays, but probably not closures for this project.
- Mag Chloride - June 23rd. As usual, this is a VERY busy day for Jody, volunteers and the contracted crews. This annual treatment will help keep dust at bay on the more heavily travelled roads and give Jody a chance to focus his grading magic on some less busy roads for much of the rest of the summer. While treating the roads, expect alternating closures between the Pine Meadow and Forest Meadow sides. Do not drive on closed roads. Premature traffic reduces the effectiveness of the Chloride treatment, and wastes the Ranch budget.
- Expected roads for Mag Chloride:
- Forest Meadow, near the end of the rotomill at the horse corral, and then from the south Ranch boundary to Pine Meadow Drive
- Tollgate Canyon
- Arapahoe
- Pine Meadow Drive
- Valley View
- Hillcrest
- Other sections as materials allow
- Additionally:
- June is nearly here. It's time that plowing markers were put away for the season. Rebar on the edges of the roads prevents Jody from grading to full potential.
- Time to get trailers, snowmobiles, cats, etc. out of the winter parking lots.
April 27th 2009 - Spring Reminders
- Culverts: Please remember that maintenance of driveway culverts is the homeowner's responsibility. During the spring meltoff, it is important that they be clear to preserve the roadways. Jody has his hands full and cannot maintain our driveways as well.
- Fire: Really, we need to start thinking about it. Wildfire is the greatest threat to our community. Please read and understand the requirements for all uses of fire on the ranch. ( Summer campfires and winter brush burning) When the Fire Hazard Sign at the bottom of the canyon goes to HIGH: No Burning of Any Kind is Allowed.
- Vehicles in the parking lots: As has been the case since 2002 ( yes, I've been reading old newsletters), vehicles need to be removed from the upper parking lot as soon as the snow is melted out. This is the staging area for summer projects. Vehicles, sleds, trailers, etc. left beyond the end of June will be towed. Also please, trailers in the dumpster locations in the parking lot at the bottom of the hill need to be moved for relocating our trash cans.
